Home Page | With the Universal Christian Church of all times and places, we confess the 66 books of the Holy Scriptures to be the inspired and infallible Word of God, and we hold them to be the only rule and norm of faith, life, and doctrine. Because the Scriptures are verbally inspired by God, and cannot fail or be broken, we also confess them to be inerrant, that is, without error in all that they address and teach. We also accept and confess all the creeds and confessions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, contained in the Book of Concord of 1580, as a correct exposition and true presentation of Christian doctrine, drawn from and in full agreement with, the Holy Scriptures. These creeds and confessions are: The three ecumenical creeds (Apostolic, Nicene, and Athanasian), The Unaltered Augsburg Confession, The Apology (Defense) of the Augsburg Confession, The Smalcald Articles, The Treatise on the Power and Primacy of the Pope, Dr. Martin Luther's Small Catechism, Dr. Martin Luther's Large Catechism and The Formula of Concord (which consists of the Epitome of the Formula of Concord, and the Solid Declaration of the Formula of Concord). |
